Call forwarding
Keep your existing business number. Your phone provider forwards the calls you choose to the number assigned in Xaller.ai.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Save your existing number and exact phone product in Phone, then activate your receptionist before changing your phone service. Find your assigned destination in Phone. Configure forwarding on the phone or service that currently receives your business calls. Replace the placeholders below with your actual number; do not dial the placeholder text.

Choose which calls to forward
Section titled “Choose which calls to forward”No answer: your team gets the first chance to answer. Busy is a separate condition. Ask your carrier to confirm both busy and no-answer handling; they may be separate settings. This is the recommended starting point where supported.
All calls: your receptionist answers first. Your business phone may stop ringing.
After hours: configure a schedule only if your phone service supports one. Setting business hours in Xaller.ai does not change your carrier’s forwarding schedule.
Test and roll back
Section titled “Test and roll back”Call the business number from a separate phone. Test an answered call, no answer, a busy line, and voicemail. Carrier behavior varies: verify what happens when the forwarding destination cannot be reached before relying on voicemail as your backup. Record the turn-off steps on your carrier’s page.
If a call loops or reaches the wrong destination, disable forwarding and check the number. Set up a verified fallback number that does not forward back into Xaller.ai. Carrier forwarding charges may apply.
