AT&T Wireless call forwarding

Back to all carriers

Use the number assigned in Phone. See the placeholder guide before entering a code. Availability and charges depend on your service and plan.

These steps apply only to AT&T Wireless. If this is not your phone product, choose Other or ask your provider.

Use the AT&T wireless phone that carries your business number. AT&T lets you change call forwarding only from that phone, not online. The destination must be a US number; AT&T does not forward calls to international numbers.

Activate your receptionist in Xaller.ai before turning on forwarding. Your existing line does not connect automatically.

Procedure reviewed: 2026-10-13. Live carrier test: not performed. A source review is not proof that this procedure works on every plan.

  1. On the business phone, open call-forwarding settings and enter your Xaller.ai number as the destination. Code or destination: {number}.
  2. Save or enable call forwarding. The exact path varies by phone model and plan; use AT&T’s device-specific instructions if you need help.
  3. Call your business number from another phone to check it rings your agent.
  • Disable call forwarding in the same phone settings. Your AT&T voicemail answers missed calls again once forwarding is off.

Call your business number from a different phone. The business phone should not ring and your receptionist should answer. Then turn forwarding off and call again to confirm your phone and voicemail are back.

AT&T conditional-forwarding steps vary by device and plan; ask AT&T for the no-answer and busy destinations for your line.

Use Forward all calls if it fits your needs.

AT&T mobile lines can’t forward on a schedule.

Use Forward all calls if it fits your needs.

  • Can’t find the forwarding setting? AT&T publishes device-specific tutorials; open the AT&T support link below and choose your phone model.
  • The business phone still rings? Check that forwarding shows as on and the destination is your Xaller.ai number, then call again from a different phone.
  • Want your team to answer first? Ask AT&T whether conditional forwarding is available on your plan and device. We don’t publish codes we haven’t verified.

Call from another phone. Check that your receptionist answers, the call appears in Calls, and your expected notification arrives. Test busy and no-answer behavior separately. If anything fails, turn forwarding off and troubleshoot the route.

Return to Phone, start a five-minute check and call your existing business number from a separate phone. Do not dial the assigned destination for this check. Let the selected condition happen, listen for your receptionist, say a few words and hang up. Confirm the matching call only if it was your test and it worked. An arrival alone is not success. No-answer and busy each need their own test; after-hours needs the phone-service schedule and time zone.

Tested with you records this one test, not continuous carrier verification. If it fails, check the product, destination, permissions and condition, or restore previous handling using the undo steps above.

While forwarding is on it overrides your AT&T voicemail, and you can still make outgoing calls. Forwarded calls are billed for their length and can add long-distance or roaming charges on some plans. AT&T does not publish a no-answer code we can verify for every device, so this guide covers forwarding all calls only. Test what callers hear if your Xaller.ai number cannot be reached.

Pausing Xaller.ai does not turn off carrier forwarding. To restore previous handling, change the settings at your phone provider.
